Conference Organisers

We are both PhD students within the TFTV department at the University of York.

Agata Frymus’ thesis examines the role and function of European female stars in the context of the 1920s in America. Her main research interests include star studies and the history of gender representations in Hollywood, with emphasis on silent film.

Fiona Keenan is researching Sonic Interaction Design, and is particularly interested in historical technologies for producing sound effects. There is a rich history of sound effects creation and performance within Silent Cinema.
